Natural elements are our very insidious enemies. On October 8, 2005, a terrible earthquake happened. This was the main reason after which the KORT charitable foundation was created. Their website is kort.org.uk.
However, first things first.
EARTHQUAKE is tremors and vibrations of the earth’s surface that occur as a result of sudden displacements and ruptures in the earth’s crust or upper mantle and are transmitted over long distances in the form of elastic vibrations.
A powerful earthquake hit Pakistan on Saturday, affecting northern India and Afghanistan. The earthquake can be estimated at eight and a half points on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 80 kilometers from the Pakistani capital. However, tremors were felt even from a thousand kilometers away.
Kashmir in Pakistan suffered more than any other area, where more than 75,000 people were killed in the earthquake. Several hundred people died in the Indian part of Kashmir.
A group of UK friends along with Ch. Mohammed Akhtar stumbled upon children walking down the mountain from their village, completely parentless. And this was the impetus for the creation of a charitable foundation to help the victims.
There can be various types of charity – transferring money, providing services and performing work in favor of beneficiaries, public fundraising, holding thematic events. It is also possible to donate profits from the disposal of property, fulfillment of wills in favor of certain categories of beneficiaries, and much more.
All these tasks have one thing in common – helping those in need without receiving benefits for it, as well as carrying out activities for this purpose.
And after the creation of a charitable foundation in Kashmir, homes for orphans, a residential complex were built, and donor blood collection took place. And this is all in order to help the affected people. A very strong and noble deed.
Therefore, do good, and it will definitely come back to you!
